BIM Coordination Checklist for Revit Project Teams

A cross-context BIM checklist for architects, BIM managers and multidisciplinary AEC delivery teams.

Agree project coordinates

Document origin, survey, levels, grids and responsibility for coordinate changes. Test links before widespread modelling begins.

Define model boundaries

State which discipline owns each system, how models are divided and what level of information is expected at each milestone. Avoid duplicating authoritative objects.

Run repeatable coordination

Use named exchanges, clash rules, issue ownership and due dates. Distinguish genuine design conflicts from acceptable proximity or modelling conventions.

Audit deliverables

Check links, warnings, views, sheets, worksets, classifications and exported files. Record unresolved issues clearly so downstream teams understand the current coordination state.
